Marlins second baseman Dan Uggla won his arbitration case against the club, and will make $5.35 million during the 2009 season.

Florida offered Uggla $4.4 million, and he is now the second-highest paid player on the team behind shortstop Hanley Ramirez.

"His power numbers as a second baseman were off the charts," Uggla's agent, Jeff Borris, said. "The key was probably that Dan's had a lot of accomplishments in the last three years. He gave us a lot to work with."
