Congressman Elijah Cummings of Maryland is asking Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez to participate in a public school campaign against steroids.

The program -- "Powered by ME!" -- is held in Cummings' district in Maryland.

A spokeswoman for Cummings said the letter does not ask Rodriguez to meet with congressional investigators.
