The Los Angeles Angels have emerged as the likely destination for free agent outfielder Bobby Abreu.
The two sides are trying to figure out incentive bonuses to finish the deal. It is believed that Angels are willing to offer Abreu a one-year deal for about $6 million, a offer he is likely to accept if incentives bonuses can indeed be worked out.
The Angels have been looking to add a bat all off-season, but were unable to reach an agreement with former first baseman Mark Teixeira and have publicly stated they will not pursue Manny Ramirez. With long-time Angel Garret Anderson pretty much already out the door, Abreu seems like a good fit for the club.
The two-time all star batted .296 for the Yankees last season, with 20 home runs and 100 RBIs.
