Phoenix forward Shaquille O'Neal weighed in on Alex Rodriguez's recent steroid admission, giving the third baseman credit for his honesty.

"He's an honest man," O'Neal said. "He admitted it, so hopefully people will forgive him. But I really can't elaborate on something I know nothing about."

O'Neal said that he and his Suns teammates haven't really discussed the issue.

"That's not our thing in the NBA," he said. "Every other sport has drug testing and all that. But A-Rod is still a good guy and an honest man so hopefully he will be forgiven."
