The Rangers announced Friday that their alternate uniform for the 2009 season will feature a red top and red cap.

They will wear the red uniforms on Opening Day, every Saturday night in Arlington, and select "red out" weekends.

"Our fans have requested the red jersey for years, and we thought we'd bring it back on a limited basis," team president Nolan Ryan said.
