The Red Sox are quietly worried about designated hitter David Ortiz because of both the wrist injury he suffered from last season and a lack of protection around him in the lineup.

Boston reportedly wouldn't mind seeing Ortiz make an attempt to get into better physical shape to avoid injuries as he gets older.
