The Phillies and right-handed reliever Ryan Madson have reached agreement on a three-year contract extension, The Inquirer learned on Monday. The deal, which is pending a physical exam, is believed to be for $12 million, with incentives.
Madson was 4-2 with a 3.05 ERA in 76 games in 2008.
RealGM Note: Madson was ranked 319th in season FIC and 'deserved' to make $2.2M in 2008. He has been consistent, but his strikeout rate is a little light for a reliever making $4M annually.
