Free agent pitcher Derek Lowe met with the Braves on Thursday and is also being pursued by the Mets, Phillies, Dodgers, Brewers, and possibly others. "We had a nice talk, went pretty good," Atlanta Manager Bobby Cox said. "Derek's in great shape, ready to go. Who knows? Hopefully, we can get close with him." The only known offer Lowe reportedly had on the table before meeting with the Braves was a three-year, $36 million deal from the Mets, which agent Scott Boras says was too low.
