With the additions of pitchers Brad Penny and John Smoltz to their starting rotation, the Red Sox could be open to trading prospect Clay Buchholz.

Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, and Daisuke Matsuzaka will definitely be in Boston's rotation, with Tim Wakefield a near certainty, as well.

There isn't room for all six starters when counting Penny and Smoltz into the mix, which means Buchholz has become very expendable.
