When the Giants promoted Larry Baer to team president in October, they quietly gave him a contract extension of eight to 10 years, according to the Chronicle.

Citing a policy of not disclosing contract details, the Giants would not confirm the precise length.

If he survives the length of the deal, Baer, a Giants' executive since Peter Magowan bought the team in late 1992, will have spent nearly 25 years with the franchise.
