Dennis Eckersley was asked about the kind of teammate Rickey Henderson was by the Boston Globe in their Sunday edition.

"Oh, he was a good teammate. He was never that disruptive. Heck, Jose [Canseco] was more disruptive than Rickey. Rickey was a guy who just had a lot of fun playing the game. He didn't bother anybody. He did his thing, and he helped every team he ever played for."
