Does Teixeira Signing Mean Yankees Will Trade Matsui?

New York Times - The arrival of Mark Teixeira in New York could mean that the Yankees will look to trade Hideki Matsui in order to trim their swelling payroll.

If not Matsui, then possibly Nick Swisher, who they acquired from the White Sox mere weeks ago.

Swisher was slotted to start at first, with Matsui likely occupying the designated hitter spot for the Yankees, but the Teixeira signing chances that.

New York now has both Matsui and Swisher to decide between at designated hitter, with Matsui an unlikely option in left field because of his bulky knee. [READ]
