Henry: Red Sox Out Of Teixeira Chase

MLB.com - Red Sox principal owner John Henry said on Thursday night that the team is no longer going after free-agent slugger Mark Teixeira.

"We met with Mr. Teixeira and were very much impressed with him. After hearing about his other offers, however, it seems clear that we are not going to be a factor," Henry told the Boston media.

Numerous reports had hinted that the Red Sox were close to signing Teixeira. [READ]
