No Yankee Offer To Tex Or Manny; Cameron Trade Appears Dead

Newsday - The Yankees are more interested in Mark Teixeira than Manny Ramirez. But according to Yankee source cited in a Newsday report, the team has not made an offer to either player.

"We're monitoring the situation, but we have not made an offer," the source said. "We may not make an offer. If the money gets too rich, then we won't."

Teixeira reportedly has offers of more than $150 million from the Angels, Red Sox, Nationals and Orioles.

Talks with the Brewers about a trade of Melky Cabrera for Mike Cameron seem to be on hold indefinitely.

"Nothing new," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said by phone on Wednesday. "At this point, I don't anticipate it's something that we would ... I haven't talked to Brian [Cashman] since last week." [READ]
