Angels, Sox Still Leading Teixeira Race?

Boston Herald - The Red Sox and Angels are believed to be the front runners to sign free-agent first baseman Mark Teixeira, even though the Nationals and Orioles are expected to make huge offers.

It seems possible that both Boston and Los Angeles will offer similar packages, though agent Scott Boras may attempt to get a concession from one to gain a bit of leverage in the negotiations.

"I think both teams already have a good idea of what it's going to take to get this done," said a baseball official Thursday. "There aren't going to be any surprises." [READ]
