The Brewers offered Ben Sheets and three others free agents, arbitration on Monday, and it is believed that the pitcher could actually accept the offer.

Sheets has an injury-plagued past that could limit his suitors. It won't help his value that a signing team now must forfeit a first- or second-round draft pick.

If no club makes an acceptable multiyear offer to Sheets, he could opt to accept arbitration and play for the Brewers next season with hopes of a bigger payday on the market next winter.
