Chicago Tribune - Former Cy Young winner Rick Sutcliffe is trying to convince Padres' pitcher Jake Peavy to approve a possible trade to the Cubs.

Peavy is represented by agent Barry Axelrod, who is still employed by Sutcliffe.

Peavy has a no-trade clause in his contract, and the Padres are still actively trying to trade him.

"Rick Sutcliffe is not officially recruiting, because he is not in an official capacity with the Cubs," Axelrod said. "But he has certainly extolled the virtues of being a starting pitcher with the Cubs." [READ]
