Giants, Furcal Have Mutual Interest

San Francisco Chronicle - The Giants and free agent shortstop Rafael Furcal reportedly have mutual interest in one another this offseason.

Furcal's agent, Paul Kinzer said: "I'll just say we've got serious interest in each other. He likes the Giants and they've expressed serious interest."

San Francisco is looking for help in the bullpen and up the middle defensively.

Asked why Furcal would consider the Giants over teams closer to the postseason, Kinzer said, "Their great young pitching staff. He feels they can be competitive pretty quick." [READ]
