Mike Arbuckle was hired by the Royals on Friday as senior adviser for scouting and player development.

He was hired just 11 days after leaving the World Series champion Phillies.

Arbuckle, who had been with the Phillies for sixteen years, quit when assistant GM Ruben Amaro Jr. was promoted to succeed retiring GM Pat Gillick.
