Dempster Slipping Away From Cubs?

Chicago Sun-Times - Just two days before team's exclusive negotiating rights with their free agents end, a trio of Cubs are expected to at least test the waters.

Ryan Dempster, Kerry Wood and backup catcher Henry Blanco have yet to agree on terms with Chicago, who reportedly wants to retain all three.

The Cubs are also a player for Jake Peavy, which has delayed contract talks with Dempster especially.

Cubs general manager Jim Hendry declined comment on specifics regarding the Peavy talks or the status of talks with his free agents. [READ]
