Padres Talking Peavy Deal With Cubs, Braves

ESPN - The Braves and Padres are making strides in trade talks involving Jake Peavy, but at the same time, the Cubs have gotten in on the action, as well.

Baseball sources believe that Peavy will be traded this offseason and possibly even by Thanksgiving.

The Braves and Padres have settled on two pieces of the package that Atlanta would send to San Diego -- shortstop Yunel Escobar and outfield prospect Gorkys Hernandez.

The Cubs and Padres have talked about a deal built around Josh Vitters, the Cubs' top pick from 2007, but Chicago doesn't have the pitching prospects that Atlanta does. [READ]
