Yankees Move Plate, Rubber To New Stadium

ESPN - Workers in the Bronx removed the plate, pitching rubber and some dirt from the mound at old Yankee Stadium and moved it to the new Yankee Stadium across the street this weekend.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's something you remember forever," a 15-year-old said as he moved dirt alongside former Yankees David Cone, Paul O'Neill, Scott Brosius, and Jeff Nelson.

"This piece of rubber is special because this is how we made our living, on this piece of rubber," said Cone. [READ]
