MLB.com - Angels' closer Francisco Rodriguez headed a list of nineteen more players to file for free agency on Monday.
Rafael Furcal, Edgar Renteria, and Omar Vizquel also filed, raising the free agent pool to 149.
"I would love to stay here," Rodriguez said of the Angels. "This has been my family for 10 years, the only people I know. I grew up in the organization. People think it's my decision; it's not. I want to stay here for many years, but I don't know what will happen.
"They have some big decisions to make. I don't know what they're going to do. We were built to win this year. I'm pretty sure they're going to make big changes. Hopefully, next year, they'll put together a ballclub to go where we need to go." [READ] |
