Mike Mussina pitched a complete game shut out against the A's, picking up a 5-0 win, helping the Yankees end their four-game losing streak.
``Finishing was obviously important to him,'' Yankees manager Joe Torre said. ``He had command of the strike zone. He threw all his pitches and he was able to throw strikes.''
The Yankees got off and running in the first inning when Gary Sheffield doubled in Derek Jeter.
