There are only two other pitchers in NLCS history to drive in at least three runs: Steve Carlton and Tom Glavine. Just over 30 years ago on October 6th, 1978, Carlton hit a three-run homer off Don Sutton at Dodger Stadium. He later singled home Tim McCarver in the top of the 6th inning. Ted Sizemore also scored on the hit after a throwing error, but a fifth RBI wasn't granted. In 1996, Glavine had a bases-loaded triple off Donovan Osborne of the Cardinals in Game 7 of the NLCS. Myers went on to get another hit in the 4th inning, marking the first time a pitcher collected three hits in an NLCS game. |
