Japan is trying to restrict the country's amateur players from coming over to Major League Baseball.

The country's twelve teams have voted on a conditional ban on any amateur player who signs with an overseas professional team, the Mainichi Daily News has reported.

The decision comes after Junichi Tazawa, a 22-year-old star pitcher, announced his intentions to play in America instead of Japan.
