Fans Taunt Yanks With '2000' Signs At Fenway

Andrew Perna/RealGM - Fans at Fenway Park waved signs with the year '2000' on them on Sunday with the Yankees battling the Red Sox.

At least a dozen of the signs were featured behind home plate in the eighth inning, in view of television cameras.

The Yankees, Boston's historic rival, last won the World Series in 2000. Prior to the Red Sox championship in 2004, fans at Yankee Stadium in New York would often flash signs with the year '1918' featured.

While Boston has won a pair of titles in the last four seasons, they had gone 86 years between World Series titles. [READ]
