The Dodgers placed Brad Penny on the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday, which will end his season, according to Los Angeles Times.

They placed him the 60-day DL to create a roster spot for shortstop Rafael Furcal.

Penny, who can buy out the $9.25-million option on his contract for next season for $2 million, could be done in Los Angeles.
