Spring training will start six days earlier in 2009 because of the World Baseball Classic, according to Associated Press.

Players will start reporting to training camps on Feb. 14, under an agreement between the players' association and the commissioner's office.

The second edition of the 16-nation WBC tournament begins March 5.
