Ned Yost didn't expect to get fired by the Brewers on Monday in the midst of the postseason race, according to Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"No, I didn?t see it coming," said Yost. "The timing of it caught me off-guard. I just didn?t see it coming."

Yost didn't even see the axe coming when GM Doug Melvin invited him into his office.

"I said, 'Are they going to fire me?' I said, 'No, not with 12 games left,' " recalled Yost.
