Mike Hampton will become a free agent this winter, and after pitching well in a few starts this summer, the Braves could bring him back in 2009, according to Rocky Mountain News.
Hampton is held in high regard in the clubhouse, and Atlanta has a very thin rotation.
"Hopefully, I can impress enough teams so that someone will take a shot," Hampton said.
Hampton is 2-2 in nine starts this season, with a 5.60 ERA.
