Mets' fans are shelling out a serious amount of cash to take a piece of Shea Stadium home with them after it closes this fall, according to Associated Press.

Darrell Buono, a thirteen-year season ticket holder, spent $869 for a pair of blue, loge-level seats.

"My wife kind of gave me a strange look when I told her I was doing it," Buono admitted. "But she was OK with it."

Both New York teams will open new stadiums next spring.

The Yankees say there will be a sale but haven't released the details yet, and so far the Mets have only put seats on the market.
