Red Sox starter Josh Beckett is expected to start for the team on Friday against the White Sox after being scratched from numerous starts, according to Boston Herald.

"(He) did very well. He?s ready to go Friday, and it?s exciting," Francona said of Beckett, who hasn't started since Aug. 17. "Because he?s excited, so are we."

Beckett is 11-9 with a 4.34 ERA in 23 starts.
