"Eventually, you have to retire and come out of retirement and then play again and then retire," Johnson said jokingly. "I haven't even retired yet and come out of retirement, so I still have a little ways to go before I actually retire." The 44-year-old appears to be thinking about playing again in 2009. "I still have a month and a half left of starts, and I'm excited about that," Johnson said. "And they're meaningful games, another reason why I wanted to come back from last year. I didn't get an opportunity to pitch in the postseason. I think I can help. I'm not the Randy of 1999 or 2000 or 2001, but I can still go out there and pitch and take my chances." |
