A Yankees official confirmed that Joba Chamberlain has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a still-undefined right shoulder injury.

No official statement had been issued by the Yankees as of late Wednesday afternoon.

Reliever Chris Britton was being recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in time for Wednesday's game against the Rangers and Ian Kennedy will be recalled to start Friday's game against the Angels.

The Yankees are awaiting a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews concerning the right shoulder of Chamberlain.
