The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Florida Marlins Minor League pitcher Daniel Gil has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for a metabolite of Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Gil is effective immediately. He is currently with the organization?s Dominican Summer League team.
