Red Sox slugger David Ortiz will miss the 2008 MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium because of an injured left wrist, according to The Associated Press.

"I'm going to go to the All-Star Game. Show respect for the fans," Ortiz said Monday night. "I'm not going to be able to play."

He has been hitting off a tee as of lat, and has been out since May 31 with a partial tear of the sheath that surrounds his tendon.

"I'm still working my way up," Ortiz said. "I'm feeling better everyday. I'm not going to tell you when I'm going to be 100 percent because I don't know."
