Ben Sheets indicated on Tuesday that he intends to test the free agency market this winter, according to The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"That?s the direction I?m headed right now," Sheets said. "You can?t invite yourself back."

He was referring to the club?s decision not to try to negotiate a new deal before or during the 2008 season.
