Indians' infielder Josh Barfield will miss six to eight weeks of action after having surgery to repair a ligament in the middle finger of his left hand, according to The Sports Network.

In parts of three seasons with the Indians and Padres, Barfield is batting .262 with 16 homers and 108 RBI.
