Former Met's Manager Willie Randolph says he paid the price for General Manager Omar Minaya's closure following the team's season-ending collapse in 2007, according to The New York Times.

"I didn?t see this coming," Randolph said of the mid-morning fire on Monday. "When I spoke to Omar the day before I knew there might be some changes, but I got the feeling I was safe. I thought that maybe to the Yankees' series or at least to the All-Star break."
