The Yankees and general manager Brian Cashman have yet to discuss a new contract, according to The New York Daily News.

There have been a few published reports that Hank Steinbrenner and Cashman have kicked off discussions on a possible new deal.

Team sources said on Thursday that talks will not begin until after the season.
