The Mets will not pull starter Oliver Perez from the rotation despite his struggles on the mound just yet, according to The Press & Sun Bulletin.

"I'm really trying to get better," Perez said Tuesday afternoon. "I understand things aren't going well, and my control isn't there."

He lasted just one-third of an inning against the Giants on Monday.

When asked about removing Perez from the rotation, Manager Willie Randolph said "We haven't gotten to that point, yet."

"His velocity is off," Bullpen Coach Guy Conti said. "He has to repeat his delivery, and he's not."
