Tigers' reliever Joel Zumaya took a huge step towards returning to the Major Leagues on Tuesday night as he threw 24 pitches and hit 100 miles per hour twice, according to The Associated Press.
"I wasn't really watching the radar," Zumaya said. "But it was nice to see that I could still throw hard after the surgery. I knew I could throw hard, but that was nice and I am ready to go again."
The appearance was his first since having offseason surgery on his right shoulder.
