Minnesota starter Nick Blackburn was hit in the face by a line-drive off the bat of Bobby Abreu on Sunday afternoon, according to The Associated Press.

The impact was lessened by Blackburn, who tried his best to get out of the way but still ended up with a bloody nose.

Abreu looked startled as he began to run out of the box and repeatedly shook his head in frustration as he stood on first base waiting for the Twins to bring in another pitcher.

Currently listed as day-today, Blackburn remained conscious and did not lose any teeth.
