One day after making comments hinting at racism, Mets manager Willie Randolph backed off from his accusations, according to a Yahoo.com report.

In Monday?s Bergen Record, Randolph responded emotionally to the harsh criticism he has received, suggesting that race played a part in the way the media has covered him.
