Rockies' shortstop Troy Tulowitzki took batting practice with the team's pitchers on Tuesday, according to 9News in Colorado.

It marked the first time he took the field since injuring his quadriceps on April 29. He may remain out until the All-Star break as the team remains cautious with his injury.

"That's the smartest way," Tulowitzki said. "They know how I am and would try to play today if I could. They're taking good care of me."
