Peter Magowan, managing partner of the San Francisco Giants, is expected to step down on Friday, according to sources that spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle.

His ownership shares, estimated to be worth well over $70 million, could be offered to fellow partners. The team overall is valued in excess of $500 million.
