Francona To Miss Pair Of Games For Sox
13th May, 2008 - 8:43 pm
ESPN - Red Sox manager Terry Francona will miss the team's first two games against the Baltimore Orioles due to the death of his mother-in-law, according to The Associated Press.

The death occurred on Monday night, and the Francona family traveled to Arizona early on Tuesday.

Bench coach Brad Miller will take over the head duties in Francona's absence.

"It's never nice, and especially in this situation and under these circumstances," Mills said before Tuesday's game. "And I could probably say it's never nice under any circumstances because something has happened. I guess it is a little bit different if there was a graduation or something along those lines."
