Cubs Expected To Sign Edmonds Wednesday

The Chicago Sun-Times - The Cubs are expected to sign centerfielder Jim Edmonds when he clears waivers on Wednesday, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

He was released by the Padres over the weekend.

The signing of Edmonds will mean a demotion for Felix Pie, who entered Monday's game with a .222 average and a host of embarrassing strikeouts.

If Edmonds is signed, he would likely share the centerfield duties with Reed Johnson. [READ]
