Figgins Lands On DL, Alongside Others
11th May, 2008 - 11:52 am
The Los Angeles Times - The Angels infield has taken yet another hit, as third baseman Chone Figgins has landed on the disabled list alongside second baseman Howie Kendrick and shortstop Maicer Izturis, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Figgins injured his hamstring sliding home against Baltimore more than a week ago and was placed on the DL retroactive to May 4th.

"He's making progress. But not enough to where you're going to project him to play any time next week," Manager Mike Scioscia said of Figgins. "We need to reestablish some depth and get some of these guys back. But you can't rush this thing."

The Angels still had the AL's second best record heading into Sunday's game, two games back of the Red Sox. [READ]
